Above all else, Palworld guide is a survival crafting game. This is the core element players need to realize and compare to other amazing titles in the survival genre . These titles involve players crafting many tools and weapons such as guns . The better your gear, the faster you will level up and the sooner you can overcome the game’s various Boss Towers .
What this game does differently is that it lets you catch creatures known as Pals that can help you in a vast number of these activities. This involves developing your base , helping you catch more powerful Pals by exploiting elemental weaknesses , and helping you explore while mounted on them .
10 Cattiva
A Strong Way To Start The Game
Lots of Lv 1 Work Suitabilities
Available right at the start
Cattiva does a bit of everything. It offers Gathering at Lv 1, Mining at Lv 1, Transporting at Lv 1, and Handiwork at Lv 1. This means it helps you accomplish whatever goal you currently aim to achieve. You can have it switch from Mining duty to helping in the production of crops at the drop of a hat — which is why it is a popular choice for a starter Pal .
Cattiva is an abundant Pal that will be available to find when you start the game, along with both Lamball and Chikipi. However, once your base is set up, you should turn your attention to Grassy Behemoth Hills for another really big help in getting a good start.
9 Foxparks
Multipurpose Fire Starter
Has Kindling Lv 1
Can be used as a Flamethrower
One of the best early fire Pals you can get your hands on is Foxparks. They are number 005 and will be both easy to find and catch. Once you have one, this will cover your Fire-type elemental matchup needs, but will also help at your base to improve the efficiency of making Ingots . This can be credited to its Kindling Work Suitability whenever you take some time to use your Primitive Furnace in the early parts of the game.
You can spend some Technology Points to give them a harness and use them as a living AoE flamethrower to decimate Leaf and Ice Pals. You can find these Pals over at Grassy Behemoth Hills — at the same time you can farm them for some Flame Organs to build that Primitive Furnace.
8 Celaray
Gardener & Glider
Can be used instead of a Glider
Can water crops and Transport drops to chests
You will be able to progress through your Technology tab to get a decent glider around Tier 18, but a better option is an early pal you can get named Celaray. This Pal has the passive Zephyr Glider, which will let you use it instead of a glider. This passive is made even better by having this Pal behave even better than if you had a Glider. In the later parts of the game, you can replace them with a dedicated fast-flying mount for better mobility.
Pull: While in a team, can be summoned and used instead of a glider. It allows you to move quickly for long periods of time while gliding with this Pal. This Pal also has Lv 1 Work Suitability in both Watering and Transporting, making it useful in both growing your crops and sorting drops into chests for you. This Pal spawns next to the Sea Breeze Archipelago Castaway Beach Fast Travel location , PalworldHaven Site which is also home to many other great pals such as the next one on this list — Rushoar.
7 Rushoar
First Saddle Option
Helps in mining Ore
As you progress through the game, you will find many different Saddles in the Technology tab. One of the first options for these is Rushoar. Rushoar and Melpaca are your best bets for an early game mount, but Rushoar is the significantly better of the two for multiple reasons. Firstly, you can craft its Saddle at Tier 6, while Melpaca’s Saddle is only available at Tier 7.
Secondly, Rushoar lets you charge into Ore Deposits to mine them faster than if you were to use a Pickaxe — it's also a lot more fun this way. You can use this Pal to move a lot faster through the map and cover a lot more distance in a shorter amount of time.
6 Vixy
Pal Sphere Farm
Farming Work Suitability for getting Pal Spheres
Have a Ranch just for this Pal
Since you can have more than one base , it's not a bad idea to have one focusing on Ranching. Ranching is a great way to get tons of useful items, and this is a Pal you will want more than just one of. While in your Ranch, Vixy will be digging up all sorts of useful items for you — including Pal Spheres.
It is pretty obvious that you will need a lot of Pal Spheres and having a ton of them early on will mean you can afford to see them break and still have enough to keep trying to catch Pals that seem to struggle more than they should. You can walk 3 Fast Travel points in the form of the Small Settlement, up to the Desolate Church, and then to the Sealed Realm of the Frozen Wings. Repeat this path as Vixy can spawn anywhere along it.
5 Eikthyrdeer
Double Jump Mount
Can perform a double jump while mounted
Has Lumbering at Lv 2
If you loved how mounted travel felt in Elden Ring, then you will love this Pal. Eikthyrdeer can have a Saddle made for mounting it, and then while mounted, its Partner Skill will let you perform a double jump while riding it. This Partner Skill is called Guardian of the Forest and is incredible for traversal purposes.
Another truly amazing feature of this Pal is that it has a Lv 2 Work Suitability at Lumbering. This means while you are not using it for traversing the lands, it can be put to work to get you plenty of resources for later. Just like Rushoar and Celaray, this Pal can be found at the Sea Breeze Archipelago Castaway Beach Fast Travel location. Later in the game, you will find a Pal that can triple jump.
4 Katress
Great For Farming & Fighting
Extra items from battles
A solid Dark type Pal to add to your roster
Katress is not a Pal you should aim to shoot off to get very early. You should focus on the above Pals first, which will each provide amazing features to reap the benefits early on. Before the desert island on the far northeast side of the game's map will be an island with the Gobfin’s Turf and Mosanda Fast Travel points. These areas are where you can get Katress.
This Pal’s Partner Skill is Grimoire Collector, and will cause more items to drop from fighting against Neutral-type Pals. This will be amazing when you want to farm items from Neutral types as it can cut the time it takes you to get the amount you need — especially when it is a lot.
3 Tombat
Pal Detector
Can detect the locations of nearby Pals
Superior to Cattiva in every way
This is a Pal that can easily spawn in your starting area without even needing to go out of your way. You will most likely just encounter it whenever you are out at night. With this Pal in toe, it can act like a radar when you are out hunting any of the previously mentioned Pals. This will be even more useful when you are hunting rare Pals going into the later portions of the game — but is just as useful early on.
This Pal detection is not even the reason this Pal places so high on this list. This pal has Mining, Gathering, and Transporting Work Suitabilities — all at Lv 2. Catch any and all of these Pals early game and you will progress much faster as you pass into and through the midgame.
2 Nitewing
Aerial Dominance
Perfect for a player’s first flying mount
Gathering at Lv 2
The ability to fly in the game is in a league of its own. Not only can you move over the map’s terrain, but you can cross over to islands and Wildlife Sanctuaries otherwise unobtainable. Nitewing is not the best flying mount, but it is the one you can get the earliest. This will really step up your game in exploration and add plenty of Fast Travel points to your map.
Nitewing is available in the starting areas of the game, but also on the opposite end of the Ice Wind Island Fast Travel as a Lv18 Field Boss. It is recommended to upgrade to Vanwyrm once you can catch one — due to them being both stronger in combat and a faster flier. Once you have Vanwyrm, your Nitewing can stay at your base Gathering.
1 Digtoise
Always Be Mining
Mining Work Suitability at Lv 3
A solid attacker in combat
You will need an incredible number of Ingots in the game, so mining is going to be more than just important. Setting up a solid mining operation will ensure you always have enough to craft whatever you need when you need it. Digtoise is perfect for the task as it has Mining at Lv 3, but is also a really strong Ground Pal — which will be perfect for defeating the first boss of the game.
While Digtoise is found much later in the game on the desert island to the far east, you can get them at a much lower level to the northeast of the Sealed Realm of the Winged Tyrant and Investigator’s Fork Fast Travel locations.
