The best Warlock builds in BG3 take advantage of these class strengths. Typically, Baldur's Gate 3 builds are based on a subclass, which takes the form of a Patron for Warlocks . The Great Old One brings useful spells and lots of class flavor, making it the prime choice for players looking to get started on the right foot with the Warlock class.

Updated April 6, 2025 by Erik Petrovich : Patch 8 for Baldur's Gate 3 is right around the corner, and though lots of the new subclasses seem like a lot of fun to play, the base game still offers some very powerful options for the best Cleric build in BG3. The Life Domain Cleric is still the best Cleric build in BG3 – but that could change with the release of Patch 8. Until then, stick with this Life Domain Cleric guide to learn the best Cleric build tips, what makes the Life Domain such a powerful subclass for the Cleric, and other information that will help you min-max your Cleric character. This Cleric build guide has been updated to add in-game flavor descriptions of the class and subclass, as well as a new small section with the best consumables for the Cleric, including both potions and elixirs, in the Equipment section.

Where multiclassing is concerned, Warlock pairs excellently with the other Charisma Caster classes: Paladin, Bard, and Sorcerer. A Paladin with Pact of the Blade can dump their strength stat entirely and focus on Charisma, gaining better spellcasting with no loss in their melee combat capabilities, while also using the Warlock's spell slots (which recharge on a short rest) to dish out Divine Smites more often. Access to Metamagic from the Sorcerer can allow some incredibly busted combos through the use of quickened spell and distant spell, including the ability to rapid-fire 6 eldritch blasts in a single turn at level 10. Bards with the College of Swords subclass can make excellent use of the Pact of the Blade to reduce the number of attributes they need to worry about, while also gaining access to a much wider range of damage and support spells from the Bard spell list and Magical Secrets.

The Oath of Vengeance Paladin is a prime choice for multiclassing with either Bard or Warlock, the former to take advantage of The College of Swords and its excellent assortment of Flourishes, and the latter to consolidate weapon attacks and spellcasting under a single stat by using Pact of the Blade and get spell slots that recharge on a short rest for more Divine Smites.

In Baldur's Gate 3 , some classes don't have many choices to make while leveling thanks to the lack of spells, like the Rogue or Monk. Warlocks are not like other spellcasters in BG3 because they have limited spell slots that refresh every short rest instead of long one, and are mostly reliant on Cantrips which can be empowered with Eldritch Invocations.

Oathbreakers initially have the Channel Oath ability: Spiteful Suffering. This allows them to deal necrotic damage to a target within 3m and cause all attacks on that target to gain advantage. This is resisted with a Charisma Saving Throw.

The max level in Baldur's Gate 3 is Level 12, and most of the time, each level you gain will grant something new for your Druid build. On character creation you gain the basics for the Druid class, then steadily gain Feat Choices, new spells and abilities, subclass features, and increase your Proficiency Bonus.

Level 7 allows access to „Dominate Beast“ and „Greater Invisibility,“ enabling them to turn animals to their side and render a target invisible for www.baldursgate3Fans.com ten rounds whether they attack or not. Level 9 grants them access to „Dominate Person“ and „Seeming,“ letting them manipulate humanoids and disguise all four party members simultaneously. Finally, at level 10, an Archfey Warlock gains „Beguiling Defenses“, becoming immune to charm.

Going back on their word or engaging in cruelty will cause a Paladin who swore the Oath of Devotion to become an Oathbreaker. This makes it an especially tricky subclass to maintain when playing as the „Dark Urge“ origin, whose bloodthirst is hard to control and can lead to accidents. Another early example of somewhere this Oath can be broken is during the encounter with Damays and Nemissa in Act One, with Lae'zel in a cage, as choosing to attack Damays and Nemissa will immediately break the Oath of Devotion.

Paladins of the Oath of the Crown swear themselves to the ideals of Civilization, of Law and Order. Oath of the Crown Paladins will violate their oath if they break their word, take unlawful actions, or torture people. At first level, they get the Channel Oath ability „Righteous Clarity“, which can be used to give a target a bonus to their attack rolls equal to the target's proficiency bonus. While this doesn't sound too crazy, it can be a very effective and efficient way of improving an ally's chance to hit.

Oath of the Ancients Paladins are defenders of Life and Nature first and foremost, similar in some respects to Druids. They gain Healing Radiance as their first Channel Oath ability, allowing them to perform an AOE Heal centered on themselves which pulses a second time at the start of their next turn. This can be tremendously useful when fighting in melee alongside other party members.
