Spending earned Remembrances from **Elden Ring ** demigod bosses has both pros and cons to it. Thankfully, Elden Ring 's new game plus mode allows players to obtain the Remembrances again, but it's not an easy task for all to do. Understanding the benefits of spending or keeping them can completely change the tide of the game and how it's experienced at different moments. 


In total, there are fifteen bosses that drop Remembrances after being defeating. Some of them can be earned by playing through the regular storyline, but the others come from optional boss fights that are scattered throughout the various regions of the Lands Between. Remembrances are a way of rewarding players for beating the toughest enemies in the game, which is why - given how hard Elden Ring 's many boss battles can be - there are only a handful of them. What makes them so valuable is what's stored inside of them; the power of the past owner is conjured into these Remembrances as a sort of essence, which the player can either spend and get runes in return, or they can choose to utilize them in a separate way by adopting part of the defeated boss' power into their personal arsenal.

Deciding to spend Remembrances has pros and cons that are, in effect, irreversible once done. Depending on what players wish to achieve with their particular character build will hold a lot of weight to how the item is ultimately used at the end of the day. Spending Elden Ring Remembrances Gives Players Multiple Options

There are a couple of pros to spending Remembrances, and the first one has to do with the ability to purchase any assorted item needed. Upon cashing them in, the spender will receive a considerable sum of runes, and certain ones will give more than others if it was from a tougher boss battle, such as the Elden Ring 's isunderstood hero, Starscourge Radahn . All the Remembrances value between 20,000-50,000 runes. If weapon upgrades are needed, players can use the newly acquired runes to purchase many smithing stones, but it doesn't stop there. Other items like crafting ingredients, weapons and armor, Ashes of War, and magic spells can be bought after turning Remembrances into runes. This becomes especially handy if players are transitioning from an easier region to a harder one or setting out to take on another boss, but the pros of spending Remembrances extenders further than this. 


Purchasing items aren't the only benefit because leveling up is another crucial element that Remembrances can be spent on. In the earlier stages of the game, leveling up is much easier because less runes are required, so players won't want to waste Remembrance runes on that during this stage; however, once a certain threshold is reached, it becomes more difficult due to the new number of runes needed increasing dramatically each level up. Depending on the Remembrance, players should think about cashing it in to help them level up during mid- to late-game progression so that they don't lose everything once they die in Elden Ring , which is commonplace for most maidenless Tarnished. Sometimes the Remembrances can even help players level up two to three times on a sole use if it's strategically combined with other runes earned from defeating past bosses and enemies. 


The Con Of Spending Elden Ring Remembrances Might Not Be Worth It

Spending Remembrances definitely has its perks, but it doesn't come without a major con. If players decide they want to cash in their item, they lose out on the special rewards that can only come from exchanging it with Finger Reader, Enia, at the Roundtable Hold. Each Remembrance houses two powerful items from its previous owner, usually in the form of a weapon. Unfortunately, once Remembrances are turned into runes, they're gone until a New Game Plus is started, in which players will have to defeat the same bosses once again to earn them - only the bosses get stronger with each restart. The good news is that the new game plus allows players to keep the weapons and levels they already earned from previous playthroughs, so it shouldn't be too difficult for an experienced Tarnished to obtain the Remembrance again; however, Elden Ring can take long to beat and might make the process for some too strenuous. One unique aspect to earning the same Remembrance twice is that powerful weapons can be dual-wielded to create an even stronger combination of attacks, making PvE and PvP more interesting. If players are only sticking to a single playthrough, though, turning the Remembrances into runes won't be worth the con of losing the special rewards from tough bosses, even if using Walking Mausoleums to duplicate them to help mitigate the loss.
