| For the King captures the essence of what's at the heart of a Dungeons and Dragons campaign: the party. Players choose a party of three, choosing from a roster of characters that are all twists on classic archetypes from D&D. Each character comes with their own specialities and playstyles, with different weapons and tools for the job. The story takes place across a typical fantasy island with damsels in distress, evil wizards, and skeletons coming back to l | The Great Old One Warlock is one of the best Warlock builds because of its access to powerful, battle-turning control spells that complement the class spell list. By binding oneself to a pact with the Great Old One, Warlocks gain the Mortal Reminder passive, which makes enemies Frightened on crits. |

| The Witcher 3 was a massive release for CD Projekt Red, showing how far they'd come from their humble roots while working on the first game in the series. The story of Geralt as he hunts down Ciri while trying to take down the Wild Hunt makes for a great time, with the many emotional moments and a wealth of amazing side quests leading to this title being absolutely jam-packed with meaningful content across the bo | Regarded as one of several crown jewels in BioWare's catalog, the Knights of the Old Republic games are essentially D&D campaigns set within the Star Wars universe. The rules and mechanics aren't a direct mirror of D&D , but they're more than familiar and comfortable for anyone who has played the latter. The saga of Darth Revan provides a gripping narrative for both games, and the characters are incredibly well-writ |

| Hypnotic Pattern (Level 3): When positioned correctly, players can disable enemies from moving and attacking. Being WIS-reliant, players may want to do this with a build that has high Wisdom to maximize the difficulty of breaking free. | The Necromancy School is excellent on its own, but can also benefit greatly from mixing in the Circle of Spores Druid. With the ability to raise powerful undead using Wizard Spells and weaker cannon fodder as a reaction using Spore Druid, players can quickly magic up a small army once enemies start dying. Whether multiclassing or not, players should pick up the Necromancy of Thay book in Act 1 and unlock its secrets. This will eventually earn players a powerful new ability, summoning a squad of Ghouls to assist them once per long rest. |

| As time goes on, the best Wizard build Subclass could change. But until then, the Evocation Wizard's ability to protect teammates from their own arcane destruction is really nice at Level 5, when Wizards pick up Fireball. | The Circle of Spores Druid has a tremendous amount of synergy with the Necromancy School available to Wizards, and taking six levels of Wizard will allow them to create a much greater range of undead minions to aid them in battle. This has the added benefit of granting them access to the entire Wizard spell list thanks to both classes being full casters, though a character will need to invest in intelligence to make full use of the Wizard spells. The Circle of Spores also synergizes well with the Monk, allowing players to brawl in melee and improve their AC using their Wisdom, which will already be pretty high since it's the Druid's spellcasting stat. Fighter and Ranger are both excellent multiclass choices too, offering Extra Attack at level 5 to dish out more Necrotic Damage while using Symbiotic Entity. Ranger synergizes slightly better due to also providing additional spell slots. (Rangers are half-casters so half of the Ranger Level, rounded down, is added to the effective caster level when multiclassing.) |

This update focuses on discussing the Bladesinging [[https://www.baldursgate3fans.com/articles/spreading-plague-and-laughter-my-oath-of-pestilence-paladin-journey.html|Plaguebringer Subclass]] and magic items that synergize well with its main playstyle. |
| Navigating the world of Morrowind is far from easy, with players having to follow directions to reach certain areas instead of just relying on a map marker. It's also important to decide a character's predominant skills early on so that they can level up efficiently | |

| Even after all the strides that Bethesda has taken in the RPG genre, some people still argue that Morrowind is one of their finest and most immersive titles by far. The unwavering focus on role-playing coupled with a massive world that players can get lost in makes for a truly great t | |
| Though Sorcerers might think they should stay away from combat, a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer performs just as well up close as they do at a range. Their higher AC and HP compared to other casters is really noticeable, and the class' use of Metamagic skills to amplify the effects of their spellcasting just makes close-range and AoE spells hit more often, or hit harder. | |

| Infernal Rapier (1d8+2 Piercing, Rapier, Very Rare): Getting this weapon for Wyll and then giving this to the team's Bard can give players access to the Planar Ally Spell. While only usable once per Long Rest, this extra Cambion ally can significantly add to the player's overall firepower, especially since it's far stronger than a typical pet. | There are a total of three BG3 Patrons (subclasses) Warlock players can try out, each of which focuses on different aspects of the class, and offers a selection of unique skills, proficiencies, and other features. As you level up in one of these BG3 Warlock subclasses, you will gain more abilities that are unique to your subclass choice. |

| In Baldur's Gate 3 , there are a few spellcasting-oriented Classes that players can choose from – Classes that actually thrive when normal weapons are taken out of the equation. The Wizard is arguably the most iconic Dungeons and Dragons spellcasting class thanks to the breadth of spells they can know. In Baldur's Gate 3 , the Wizard's diversity makes it hard to pin down its best build. | One excellent Act 3 option would be the full Bhaalist set, especially the Bhaalist Armor and its ability to make nearby foes vulnerable to piercing, which pairs well with the piercing damage inflicted by the Legion of Bees. |
| |
| In Baldur's Gate 3 , Sorcerer builds can be enhanced further with the use of specific consumables. Certain potions, like the Ellixir of Battlemage's Power, will grant combat-oriented bonuses for this best Sorcerer build, while others, like the Potion of Angelic Reprieve, will make it easier to cast more spells more often by restoring Spell Slots. | The best background for Rogues in BG3 in general is the Urchin background. It grants proficiency in Sleight of Hand and Stealth, two skills which Rogues regularly use, and will trigger moments of Inspiration when doing typical Rogue shenanigans, like unlocking heavily locked treasures, sneaking into areas, and performing stealthy maneuvers in and out of combat. |
| The best Wizard companions in BG3 are Shadowheart as the primary support of the party, Lae'Zel as your melee tank, and Astarion as another melee party member who can do extremely high damage and provide some use out of combat too. | |
| |
| At level eight, War Clerics get "Divine Strike: Warmaster," which allows them to add extra slashing damage to an attack. Level nine finishes off their Domain Spells with "Flame Strike" and "Hold Monster." This provides them with a powerful targeted strike of radiant and fire damage and allows them to freeze a creature in place. | Song of Rest gives an extra short rest, which gives the Warlock another way to refresh their limited spell slots, while Bardic Inspiration can be used for some useful support skills. Multiclassing as a Bard and a Warlock makes CC a key part of the character's spell list, so plan to stand back and set up plays for allies rather than getting involved in the fighting first-hand. |

| The Sorcerer is one of the most volatile Classes in all of Baldur's Gate 3 thanks to their wild spells and ability to use Metamagic to enhance their spellcasting skills. Sorcerers are at their best when they put all of their effort into maximizing their damage output, which the Draconic Bloodline subclass offers in spades. | The Ranger subclasses in Baldur's Gate 3 allow the Ranger to gain additional abilities inspired by the Ranger's core concept as a Scout that hunts dangerous foes and has a deep understanding of the natural world. The Beast Master subclass allows them to acquire an Animal Companion to aid them in battle, the Hunter chooses a specialization to aid them in taking down their chosen foes, and the Gloom Stalker learns to steel their mind against mind-altering effects and strike at their foes from the shadows. Rangers select their subclass at level Three. |

| At this stage in a Bard’s progress as a D&D Class in Baldur’s Gate 3 gameplay, players are advised to experiment with their character’s potential to accommodate multiple roles. Based on their current playstyle, is their Bard suitable as a sub-DPS, a sub-support, or a sub-tank? | Updated April 6, 2025 by Erik Petrovich : Patch 8 for Baldur's Gate 3 is right around the corner, and though lots of the new subclasses seem like a lot of fun to play, the base game still offers some very powerful options for the best Warlock build in BG3. The Great Old One Warlock is still the best Warlock build in BG3 – but that could change with the release of Patch 8. Until then, stick with this Great Old One Warlock guide to learn the best Warlock build tips, what makes the Great Old One such a powerful subclass for the Warlock, and other information that will help you min-max your Warlock character. This Warlock build guide has been updated to add in-game flavor descriptions of the class and subclass, as well as a new small section with the best consumables for the Warlock, including both potions and elixirs, in the Equipment section. |
| | |
| It's important to optimize a Sorcerer's spell list with each level up and cut some abilities to make room for new ones – putting one level into Wizard early gives you more options to choose from, though it becomes a bit useless at max level, when Sorcerers can no longer swap spells. | |

| For what it's worth, the story of Skyrim is pretty generic, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. After all, just like D&D , it's the journey that matters the most.
